Here is the first recycling
advert. In this advertisement by Coca Cola, it shows a dead bird with pieces of
glass inside it and beside it . I feel that Coca Cola’s
purpose of this is to make a
big impact to the public and make them physically see that the rubbish people
decide not to recycle not only harms the environment but also wildlife. I feel
that having a dead bird makes you think and feel sorry for the bird as an
action so simple could have prevented this bird from being in that position.
The ‘Stop trashing Australia’ looks bold and stands out on this advert which
gives it a great effect and makes it eye-catching. If i were to enhance this
design i would of added a brighter and much bolder colour to the type like red
to fit the ‘Coca Cola’ logo and also to make it look more eye appealing.
Here is a second recycling advert. In this advertisement by
Enterprise, it shows a green tree sprouting from a brown paper bag with a
recycle logo on it. I feel that Enterprise’s purpose of this is to open up the
eyes of people that don’t understand how much it benefits the environment when
you recycle. I feel that having a fresh tree growing from a bag that can be
recycled is not as effective however has some creaivity. It could give an
effect on those who partially understand the importance of recycling but i
don’t feel its got that real eye opener effect to make someone that don’t
really understand the importance of recycling to open their eyes and recycle.
However i really do like this design and feel its creative in its own way as
its showing two things. One being, if you recycle the environment would look
healthy. A second creative aspect is it looks like they have tried to create a
plant pot similarity. The bag looks like a plant pot and the tree coming out
adds that effect of a plant growing. If i were to enhance this advert i would add
colour to the text to make the advert stand out.
Here is a recycle advertisement. In the advertisement by the
World Wildlife Fund, it shows a moose made out of waste on top of a pile of
waste. I feel The World Wildlife Fund’s
purpose of this is to reach out and emphasize the idea that we need to recycle
items that can be recycled and not our wildlife. They use a sentimental tone in
order to appeal to the reader’s feelings about nature and the wildlife by using
dull colours, effective materials and creative techniques which makes this
advert stand out. To enhance this design i would make the type look more
effective to what its trying to show. I feel its a little too simple for an
advertisement like this as these need maximum effect to try and help the
environment.
Here is a fourth recycling campaign. In this campaign by
Recycle Ailgylchu, it shows a fork made out of items that can be recycled. I
feel that Recycle Ailgylchu purpose of this campaign is to show people, mainly
the ones who don’t recycle, the physical benefits of what recycling can do.
They used a creative idea of placing recyclable materials in a shape of a fork
to make you think how easy it is to re-create a fork which i thought was a
great idea as it shows clearly what recycling actually does for us. Also they
placed a gradient effect as the background to draw the attention to the fork
which i felt was a unique idea. If i were to enhance this design i would of
expanded the gradient background so the white was more over the fork so it
stood out a little.

Here is a fifth recycling campaign. In this campaign by Three Rivers, it shows an elephant about to crush a pile of plastic bottles. I feel that Three Rivers purpose of this campaign is to tell and show people that you should squash plastic items before you put them in the recycle bin. They use a unique idea by placing an elephant about to crush some plastic bottles with it squirting water on top of ones that have been crushed all at the same time. I feel this was a good idea because its showing two actions in one however its not giving an eye opening effect that would make people realise and change their actions.
